No worries. I didn’t pick up on the link. Fanatics are fanatics, religious or secular.

Vivienne AppleWhite according to the Philadelphia Inquirer in fact did get a photo ID. Thanks for bringing her up and making my point that photo Voter ID laws do NOT suppress votes by referring to her. Thanks for referring to Paul Weyrich by pointing out that yes, no everyone including felons, 5-year-olds and the dead shouldn’t vote. Thanks for referring to the fact that the elderly can get temporary IDs as well. The claim of voter suppression per Voter ID laws is an utter farce.

My apologies, I realize that many of us religious skeptics are able to swim withing the waters of the right just fine. It is just that back when I was a card-carrying member of the left, most of my battles with the true religious fanatics (who now make up the same community of Obama critics who I am with now) were fought here on youtube. Honestly, it was mainly seeing S. E. Cupp within this video that triggered my comment. That’s all.

  5. Aegius says:

Non-Whites at the Repub convention: Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval; Sher Valenzuela, the GOP candidate for lieutenant governor of Delaware; Ted Cruz, candidate for the U.S. Senate in Texas, South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley; and the first lady of Puerto Rico, Lucé Vela Fortuño; Mia Love, a small-town Utah mayor; Artur Davis, the black ex-Democratic congressman. As stated, the claim of a racist Southern Strategy is utter nonsense. Yes, look at the results: Many non-Whites as speakers & office holders!

  6. TullyRiven says:

Nobody has brought up evolution until you did so your complaint has no context. Seems more like you want to make it look like conservatives = religious fanatics = intolerant. Could be wrong, but I can see no other logical purpose for your post. As I said before, I’ve seen far more intolerance from atheists.

I’m an Atheist who is tolerant of others.

  7. grungefreak10 says:

Youtube members like NephilimFree, VenomFangX and especially a Bona Fide Sociopath named ShockOfGod have been guilty of ad hominem slander in spades. I am aware that many of you religious make a conscious attempt to be polite about your belief (as does Alfonzo for the most part.) But at the end of the day, I think the only solution for you IDers and I is to agree to disagree.

  8. TullyRiven says:

“stop demonizing all of us religious skeptics for accepting evolution”

The 1st step in seeking respect for the atheist view on evolution is to respect the religious views of creationism. Since I engage in debates skeptical to anthropogenic global warming, I am often accused of being a flat earther, anti-science, religious zealot who doesn’t believe in evolution. I don’t recall ever hearing a religious person being critical of someone who argues on behalf of the theory of evolution.

  9. grungefreak10 says:

I used to be very liberal, but as time has gone on, I have pretty much accepted that if America, nay, The West as a whole is going to survive into the 21st century, we need to throw aside the hedonism socialism. Mark Steyn said it best “To stand for everything is to stand for nothing.”

Since S. E. Cupp is an avowed atheist, albeit a passive one, I am hopeful that at least some of my fellow Non-Liberals will stop demonizing all of us religious skeptics for accepting evolution.

  10. ArrogantAmerican333 says:

Hey slander-loving-fact-hater, Perry didn’t name his ranch Niggerhead, that was the name the former owner gave it and painted on a rock. BTW, Carter’s civil rights record is not glowing either. He tried to block integration as a school board member in the 1950s, believed in maintaining the “homogeneity of neighborhoods” (there are multiple quotes you can find on this), and recently called Obama a “black boy.”

  11. Aegius says:

Here is another ?: Do you blame talk radio and the TEA Party for Jared Loughner?

  12. Aegius says:

Being a supporter of states’ rights doesn’t make you a racist. Nice try. & I already pointed out that the South didn’t switch at all in the 1976 election of Carter. Or do you think that the Southern Strategy is ongoing and the Repub take-over of Congress in 1994 was part of it?

  13. shankarsingam says:

i just read Reagan gave a speech at Neshoba county fair right after 3 civil rights workers were murdered and said he was “in favor of states rights” to institute segragation. ohhhhhhhh! Reagan was a racist!!! This was all part of the southern strategy that you think is bs. Unfortunately thats direct quote from Ronny himself.

  14. Aegius says:

Barry Goldwater, conservative, desegregrated schools, restaurants and the AZ national Guard before going to Congress. Oops… More civil rights from conservatives.
WHo stopped the CRA of 1960? Dems including Progressive LBJ.
Who spear-headed opposition to the CRA of 1964? Progressives Robert Byrd and Al Gore, Sr.

  15. Aegius says:

Reagan also pushed for Rights for Amerindians during his term as POTUS and supported sanctions against South Africa per apartheid. Oh, support for civil rights against racism from conservatives.

Now Chris Matthews who also didn’t mention Willie Horton’s murdering when refering to code words. Oops., holding Blacks to lower moral standards and in turn racism from Lefties.

  16. shankarsingam says:

Reagan opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, opposed the Voting Rights Act of 1965 calling it “humiliating to the South”, Ohhhh snap, yet more racism from conservatives.

  17. Aegius says:

Nixon pushed for the CRA of 1957 and campaigned for Civil Rights in 1960 and criticized JFK for ignoring civil rights until the phone call to Corretta King. Those are his actions. Your race card playing over Rick Perry doesn’t mean squat. Torre referring to Willie Horton while ignoring the fact that he is a murderrer is. If you can’t acknowledge that Horton is a murderrer, b/c he is Black, then the real racist is you. Torre is a racist.

  18. Aegius says:

“so any fact that contradicts your belief is bs” Any lie and half-truth that you bring up is BS. I already pointed out how in states that have Voter ID laws %s and #s of ppl voting INCREASED. I also pointed out how elderly ppl can get temporary IDs. Real life experience? Ppl in Brazil telling you that they don’t like USA health care doesn’t mean squat. Highest survival rate in cancer and heart disease in USA does. That is real life experience. Go read Thomas Sowell, so that you can get brains.

  19. shankarsingam says:

Nixon on blacks in the USA – “My own view is I think he’s right if you’re talking in terms of 500 years,” he said. “I think it’s wrong if you’re talking in terms of 50 years. What has to happen is they have be, frankly, inbred. And, you just, that’s the only thing that’s going to do it, Rose.”
Think about that Aegius when you head down to republican Governor Rick Perry’s Nigger Ranch for the Klan meetup.

  20. Aegius says:

Already discussed Applewhite: She can get temporary ID and probably has real ID for getting her Medicare and SS. Already discussed Weyrich. So he stated that he doesn’t want everyone to vote? So what? I don’t want the dead or 5-year-olds to vote either. After Lefties blamed us for Jared Loughner, yes, I regard ALL the accusations against us as lies. The Christian Right? Did they have 1000s of arrests like the OWS crowd? UH, no. Enough said.

  21. Aegius says:

We could have 40%+ of ppl in state legislatures, city councils, as mayors, a governors, judges, etc being Blacks and other non-Whites serving and the Lefties would ad nauseum be on a quest for racism and state that society is extremely racist w/a lack of strides. They don’t care about truth. They just want to complain.

  22. shankarsingam says:

wow, so any fact that contradicts your belief is bs, Vivette Applewhite, Weyrich, real life experience. You are definatley close minded as they come. BTW i am reading a book, its called Gods Own Party, the making of the Christian Right by Daniell Williams. Like it matters to you, you ll just consider it lies. What was the last book you read?

  23. Aegius says:

% of schools segregated before Nixon admin: 70%. After Nixon admin: 8%. In 1976 every Southern state voted for Carter. The claim of the Southern strategy is to get racists to the Repub party, while Nixon was desegregating the schools is crap. The South gradually turned to the Repubs, but over a period of more than 30 years. GA didn’t switch until 2003. LA, 2007; NC, 2010.

  24. Aegius says:

You have no idea what you’re talking about as always. I just described how the claim of the Southern Strategy was BS and frankly commented on it before. You are utterly clueless. Go read a book.

  25. TullyRiven says:

For all our talk about Racism in America, we have made enormous strides. There are racists republicans, democrats, independents, whites, blacks, evangelicals, atheists. In short, racism is a dark shadow in the souls of humanity where we try to judge the unknown based on limited information lending towards stereotypes and profiling.

We elected an African American as President and they serve in both parties.

Rumors of racist motivations are highly exaggerated.

Obama has picked the right one. Someone who can truly help put this country back on track, unlike McCain who picked someone to attract women voters just to get elected. Obama-Biden great pair, American is on his way back y’all watch out.

which Springsteen song are they playing?

  35. ada19851985 says:

Agreed… I can’t wait to see how much of a fool Mccain is going to make out of himself tonight.. I can’t see his anger is going to lash out… Palin sounds just like the voice of Carman’s mother off South Park

  36. jamainekouame16 says:

    JOE BIDEN ROCKS!

  37. BeatsonsGirl84 says:

I’m not American but Biden seems like an excellent choice for Vice President judging by this great speech.

  38. TAMTULROD1 says:

She’s a loose canon. I hate to see her trying to be diplomatic with forgein countries. She would get us all killed with that mouth. LOL

  39. tsteves1 says:

If you take Bush Sr. out of the equation, every war we fought in the twentieth century was started with a Democrat at the helm. WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam. kennedy did not want out of Vietnam . He and LBJ had a welfare state waiting in the wings and they needed the money created by the war machine to fund it. LBJ, to his credit, introduced the Civil Rights Act. And more Republicans supported its passage in proportion to their numbers in Congress than Democrats.

  40. damnquinvsstarscrm says:

obama and biden …vote for them

  41. ellscruiser says:

I watched Sarah Palin last night accept her party’s nomination. Is there any doubt left that Joe Biden is the MOST qualified candidate? He talked vision and passion and KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE. She was a shrill, nation dividing candidate who will bring the campaign to even lower standards than the Rove machine has. In fact,I think she helped Rove get his master’s in trash!

  42. doggystylez98 says:

    lol freudian slip

  43. archimmes says:

I can’t wait until he emabarasses Palin during debates. We’re gonna get another “Senator, you are no Kennedy” moment!

  44. meeksmen says:

Falin Palin’s speech was pretty lame, it wasnt even close to the first 10 mins of this speech. You wouldnt need to hear a resume of a true VP pick when he/she introduces themselves. Obama in 08!!

  45. hrobbins says:

Ive never heard him debate but am looking forward to it. Obama/Biden should mop the floor with mccain/palin

  46. hrobbins says:

    thats awesome.

  47. therealpurplephoenix says:

Even if I’m a Filipino I support Obama-Biden. Just hearing Palin say that being a “small-town mayor is like being a community organizer except that it has actual responsibility” makes me shudder at America’s future.

    Community organizers have ACTUAL RESPONSIBILITIES.

  48. amym2sf says:

I dialed this up after watching Sarah Palin give her speech tonight. What a difference!

Biden gave a thoughtful speech that went straight to people’s deepest concerns.

    Obama ’08.

  49. agetis says:

I just watched Palins speech at the RNC…omg!

Hearing Biden is something so refreshing after Palins terrible speech.

I’m not a American. But people, it’s not only about America.
    The World needs Obama/Biden!
