James Hanley is associate professor of political science at Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan. His areas of interest are political economy, public policy, and the evolution of social behavior. He is also a Fellow of the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU), in Clinton Township, Michigan. He has published in the American Political Science Review, Politics and the Life Sciences, PS: Political Science and Politics, The Muslim Public Affairs Journal, as well as contributing chapters to two books and writing policy briefs for ISPU.
Hanley prefers wilderness canoe tripping to working, but is so far unable to make a living out of it.
