Duck Church
Jason Kuznicki on Jul 1st 2004
When we moved into our neighborhood, Scott and I were surprised to find a Duck Church just down the street. In case you’ve never seen one, here is a completely unretouched photo of our local Duck Church:
Note that it’s duck-sized and surrounded by a moat; these features distinguish it from Methodist or Presbyterian Churches. Every Sunday morning, ducks and geese can be seen gathering here. Some fly in from as far away as Canada.
Now I know what you’re thinking: “Duck Church? Bah, there goes the neighborhood…” But Scott and I are tolerant, cosmopolitan people. We decided right away that if they left us alone, we’d leave them alone. And in the two years we’ve lived here, not a single duck evangelist has quacked at our door.
But this morning Scott asked me a disturbing question: “If we eat goose for Christmas, what do you suppose that they eat?”
It was then I knew that the Duck Church must be destroyed.

[...] First, I plead guilty in that I failed to write a piece of straight-up polemic. There is a lot of parody in my argument for divine right monarchy. But come on, remember who you’re dealing with here, and at least be happy that I didn’t give you this, or this, or this. [...]
Do you have ANY MORE photos of this!
The opening illustration for this Sunday’s sermon is about a “DUCK CHURCH?”
THANKS!
